Individual Endeavours This page will cover the fundraising exploits of individual team members Sam Chappel
I have raised money by doing a cake stall at the Christmas Fair, ding babysitting, washing my dad’s car etc. To raise further funds I am going to do a car boot sale, go round Whitchurch and wash cars and get money instead of presents for my birthday. William Cole
My name is Will Cole and for my main fundraising event I will be doing a sponsored cycle ride that will be 100 miles along the Kennet and Avon canal, from Bristol to Reading. This will be a real challenge as I hope to do it in a day. I’m planning to do the ride in the April holiday, so I hope the weather will be good. The highest amount someone has sponsored me for it is £50 so I’ve been busy getting sponsors which have nearly covered my £500 target. My granny has generously given me £100 in return for doing odd jobs for her. Also one of her friends that I did not now gave me £25. My mum and dad also took the sponsorship forms into work and that got me about £100. Harry Cope
I have done leaf picking with 2 other team members for my uncle and helped towards a disco. Also my Mums employer, Hydro Building Systems (part of the Norsk Hydro Group) have kindly donated the remains of my own personal fundraising amount so I have reached my target. Any further donation money raised between now and the trip will be passed on to the group fund.

For my fundraising, I managed to get £100 for my birthday and Christmas. I am planning on doing a sponsored swim. My dad has asked his company, Hochief, if they could sponsor me and they have agreed. Me and my friend Emily are going to help out for something with her mum, making tea and coffee. Will Dinsdale
Hi I’m Will and for my personal fundraising of £500 I have been doing some hard labouring for my dad in the garden to re-build 3 patios and build a new one. He pays me by the hour as if I had an actual job. I find this hard but enjoyable because when the patios are finished it will be very rewarding.
I also held a raffle whilst I was at BCOT for my work experience. I was with the marketing department so they helped me with design and things. All prizes were donated and it made more people aware of what we are doing. Also the marketing department have a page in the BCOT newspaper in which I will be describing who I am, what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. I enjoyed the sponsored walk, it helped me finish my personal fundraising, as well as continuing the team building with the litter picking and flower planting that we have done. Suzy Dyer
I have been doing all sorts of odd jobs here and there from babysitting to cleaning cars! I have been babysitting regularly for members of my extended family and I have a few more dates set to come! I have also been doing some housework for my parents e.g. hovering, cleaning, clearing up my sister’s mess! On my work experience placement I did a raffle and asked everyone I new at Nationwide to buy a ticket and thanks to their generosity I raised over a ₤100!! For our sponsored walk I have lots of sponsors so I’m really looking forward to putting my walking boots on and getting out there! I have about ₤200 left to raise so I shall be here, there and everywhere for a few weeks to come!

For my fundraising, I have completed a sponsored 50 mile walk of the Test Way. I am also planning to help my Mum (with Meg!) with some training days later in the year. Christina Hackett
I have organised an Adults Only Motown evening alongside Sarah Waissen and Harry Cope, and with the profits on the bar, we raised the best part of £900. We split the amount raised which gave us £300 each. I have also been giving my Cousin extra tuition lessons on maths and English. I am given £4.50 a lesson and some of that is put towards my fundraising. We are planning to do a sponsored walk, the sponsors are for our personal fundraising. Next Saturday I am also planning to do my own bag packing at Somerfield in Whitchurch. I have roughly £200 to raise!!!!!!!

For my personal fund-raising, my main event has been an 'afternoon tea' for some people at church. This was a great success, and people were very generous. Also, I have done quite a lot of babysitting for people I know. These two things have completed my fund-raising! Andrew Martin
I have raised sponsor money by babysitting. I also got sponsor money from my Grandad’s company.
Chloe Nightingale To start with, I have been raising money by selling things at a car boot sale and doing odd jobs for people. I have also been collecting 1, 2, 5 and 10 pence pieces which so far has added up to a surprising £30. For my main fundraising project I climbed the highest mountain in England (Scafell Pike). I did this in May half term with my dad and asked my family and friends to sponsor me. This was one of the hardest things I've done and was the first thing I'd ever done of that kind. Thanks to the generosity of my family and friends I have now completed my fundraising.

I have done a sponsored silence, and I plan to babysit and work with my dad. The silence was hard but it was worth it. Amy Steel
For my personal fundraising of £500 I have been doing odd jobs at home and for different members of my family. E.g. – washing cars, washing up, hovering and polishing! I have also been babysitting and walking dogs. I have been collecting sponsors for the sponsored walk. I’m really looking forward to the walk because it’s a chance for us to bond better as a team. At Christmas I asked my family to give me money instead of presents, some of this money has been put towards my personal fundraising. Each week I am given £5 by my Nan, because I help her out at home a lot e.g. – tidying up and watering the plants. I have roughly £200 left to raise Sarah Waissen
I have raised my money by babysitting, car washing and I also held an adult Motown disco in Overton in January. Raising money is hard work but quite fun too! |
