Group Fund Total So Far:
| | May Ball - Saturday 10th May2008 Held on Saturday the 10th May 2008 in the Testbourne School Sports Hall, the May Ball was an outstanding fundraising success for the Mityana Project. With a live music provided by Overtons Sideways down, the evening was graced by many who turned out in Black Tie and best party dresses. The Sports Hall was transformed by Stubbys lighting expertise and Julies table dressing with Mityana colours reflected in balloons all around the room. With Stubby hosting, the auction was well supported, with the 15 items on offer making almost £800. The raffle came close behind with a superb £500.
With the profits made on the tickets added to the takings on the Bar the ball raised a magnificent £2620.62p A huge thanks goes to the organising team of Julie Dinsdale, Tracey Waissen, Shirley Davis, Helen Inglis, Nigel Dyer and David Dinsdale, who worked tirelessly to prepare for the event as well as on the night itself. Also a special mention to Alison Cole who sold over 20 tickets and sourced a number of raffle prizes. A big thanks also to Stubby who hosted the evening including the auction and the lighting, the band Sideways Down, all those who bought tickets, and of course, all the organisations that provided prizes. They included: Winchester Cathedral | Rebecca Hughes | Alexander McCall Smith | Ikebana, Overton | Jonny Wilkinson | Gladstones, Whitchurch | Executive dry Cleaners, Overton | The Fireplace Shop, Overton | Hairs ‘n’ Graces | Faraway Tree, Overton | Whitchurch Silk Mill | Overton Gallery | House’n’Home, Whitchurch | Hobbs Hair Dressing, Overton | Downings, Whitchurch | Salisbury Festival | The Redfort Indian Restaurant, Overton | Basingstoke Sports Centre | Glassfoolery, Whitchurch | Beale Park | Reading F.C. | Test Valley Golf Club | Vanity day Spa, Overton | Basingstoke Aquadrome | Rt Hon Sir George Young BT MP | Intech Science Centre, Winchester | Granada Studios | Newbury Race Course | Paul O’Grady | St. Marybourne Garage | Hampshire CC | Cavista, Overton | White Hart, Whitchurch | |
